The Academy was founded in 1895, and for over 110 years it has retained its high international reputation. In the rating of medical universities of Russia, the Academy appears in the leading “A” group. Among the nearly 3,500 universities of Russia, the Academy is included in the first hundred of the best ones.

Academy’s Rating and International Recognition:

It has received a certificate of the “100 Best Universities of Russia” and a special medal. It is approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is mentioned in the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools. In 2004 St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical Academy was awarded twice: it received a gold medal and a “European Quality” diploma, which certifies the professional approach to teaching students and the high standard of its graduates’ qualification in the European perspective. For its long-standing contribution to the development of medical education in the world, the Academy got the Order of St. Sophia (Oxford, England) in 2004. The Academy was the world’s first medical educational institution to specialize in Pediatrics. It has been the leader in this area for many years now.

St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical Academy is licensed and accredited by the state for preparing specialists in the area of Medicine. Graduates of the Academy receive the national degrees of education that confirm their competence and skills to be in accordance with the state educational standards prescribed for their specialties. The Academy’s degree confirms that its owner has achieved the standard of theoretical knowledge and practical skills sufficient for self-dependent medical activities in accordance with the requirements, and it entitles the person certified to exercise medicine professionally on the territory of the Russian Federation and in other countries.

On the Academy’s course completion students receive a degree with the international standard appendix. Programs and syllabuses that are used in the course of training are those recommended by the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME).

Faculty and Resources:

The most advanced medical equipment and technical resources are at the service of St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical Academy. Hostels:
